Recruitment & Interview

The key to success is in your recruiting decision…

It has been cited in studies that relying solely on an interview conversation only increases your chances of finding the best candidate by 2%. We can help you to reach success by providing highly effective business simulations for your recruitment and assessment days.

Recruiting the right employee is fundamental to the function and progress of an organisation. If the recruitment is right then you have a solid base to build on.  This is particularly important in your choice of people managers.

“The role player had the task of role playing four scenarios and managed to keep the scenarios consistent…a better way of interviewing candidates”

Give your candidates the opportunity to demonstrate what they can do

We can help you during the resourcing cycle to give an opportunity for a demonstration.

  • The Workplace Simulation gives you the opportunity to see the candidate in action.
  • Workplace actors help you to see crucial communication skill levels.
  • An assessment is made by either Take Effect or your company assessor.  This informs your important decision and the subsequent ongoing development of the individual, should they be taken on.

It is imperative to gain a full picture of a candidates ability.

In interviews a candidate may well be able to articulate their skills, but how do you know if they can put the theory into practice?  Answer: ask them to demonstrate. Equally, a candidate may have difficulty verbally explaining their skill level, a workplace simulation gives them the opportunity to show you what they can do.

Our business workplace actors will –

  • Be consistent. Ensure consistency with each participant to ensure fairness and professionalism.
  • Stick to your brief. Follow the brief that is provided to them and absorb it in advance of the session.
  • Give Feedback. Provide feedback that is objective, in both verbal and written form, to support your individual assessment.
  • Be Objective. They are trained to have awareness in avoiding inaccurate perception, such as not having preconceived opinions, or being influenced (for example by others’ observations of candidate’s assessment) and not stereotyping; all of which are important for effective recruitment.
  • Be Confidential. They are aware of confidentiality and are requested to sign a confidentiality agreement for your reassurance.
